Jesus made a difference People talk a lot about Jesus the baby and Jesus the man. They don't say much about Jesus the kid. What did the son of God do when He was your age? His birth, death and resurrection sure made a big difference – But did Jesus make a difference when He was young? Yes He did! By the time He was twelve, Jesus knew His bible. He could talk about it, and He understood that obeying God's Word was the key to life. When He was at church, He listened to adults and asked good questions. He amazed the teachers. He practiced obeying God by obeying His parents. That wasn't easy. He learned that life wasn't just about what He wanted to do. He had to cooperate with His parents. His decision paid off. Think about this summary of Jesus' teenage years: "Jesus increased in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and men" (Luke 2:52). The best way to shock a teacher is to be interested! Anybody can act bored and disruptive. It takes work to learn – but the benefits are amazing. Asking question and looking for the truth will make a big difference in at least one life – your own! Practice obeying your parents. They won't know what hit them! The description of Jesus' teenage years really can be the description of your life. It won't be long before you discover that Jesus Himself will help you as you seek to live like He lived.
